Youth Leadership Workshop on GCED, South Korea (Fully Funded)

Call for applications for the 12th Youth Leadership Workshop on GCED. The program is divided into two parts. Selected applicants will first attend an online workshop in May and then participate in the main workshop in June in the Republic of Korea. The program will cover the major cost of the selected particapants inlcuding airfare, meals, accommodation and the location transportation.


The  youth development program is offered by APCEIU and the UNESCO Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development (MGIEP) in partnership with the GCED Youth Network. The workship will bring together 40 youth leaders from ODA recipient countries who have been actively engaged in GCED activities. The program aims to empower young leaders with the knowledge and skills needed to promote peace, sustainability, and global cooperation.

The theme of this year’s edition is “Translating Peace into Action: Leveraging Media and the Arts for Youth Advocacy.” During this training program, participants will take part in interactive sessions, discussions, and collaborative activities with youth leaders from around the world. After successful completion of the workshop, participants will be eligible to participate in an additional mentorship program from July to August (6 weeks, online) to further expand their initiatives.

Eligibility Criteria for Youth Leadership Workshop in South Korea:

  • Applicants must be born between 1998 and 2007.
They must have oral and written English language proficiency.
  • Applicants must have at least 2 years of present experience in youth activities.
  • Candidates must be committed to implement GCED training programs within three months after attending the in-person workshop.
  • Applicants must be from one of the Official Development Assistance (ODA) recipient countries. (List is available on the official website)
Applicants must have completed the required prerequisite online course on the GCED Online Campus.
